Today, I drove to Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas for the optional field trip. Arrived approximately at 100pm and departed at around 430pm. The sun's temperature was really hot yet windy. The Native Plant trail had a big variety of plants that I could identify from previous outings with our class. Lizards made lots of noise in the bushes and freaked me out once and awhile. I couldn't help but scream and be paranoid at times. I always checked where I was because i felt I would go off the trail and get lost. Precaution signs of woodrats, lizards and snakes really kept me on alert if I were to encounter one without warning. That was one of my main concerns and when the trail was ever going to end.
For the first time, I actually depended greatly on the tripod for all my photographs today. In previous field trips, the use of a tripod was not necessarily a prop that worked well. The main reason was cause' it was an extra accessory that was too heavy and a hassle to drag around.
The whole experience was rewarding. I got to see WILD Cucumber being freshly grown on a vine. That was one of my favorite moments.
I was the only one in this exhibit area so it was peaceful. Birds flocked by every so often and made the atmosphere less creepier and enjoyable.
Nevertheless, plants would poke me and i would panic thinking its some animal going to bite me.
I got to use the CANON 30D camera again. (love using it) So much easier to look at plants and have little identification signs next to them. Without them, I wouldn't know the difference.
Nice place. Nice weather. Nice photographs.
