Camp Pendelton

I drove my car for this field trip and had along with me two passengers, Brittney and Sophia. We arrived before 3:30pm. We probably didn't actually start going inside the base untill like 4:00pm. As soon as we entered, we got checked by the security guards. I had the decal so i just flashed my military ID card. Not even a mile when we arrived to our location. This shot of Brittney in front of the barn was really cool. It gave evidence and scale of our presence being there.


While half of our huge group was listening to the tour guide, Brittney and I went off onto our own adventure. Brittney wanted to search for the red flowers near the barn. So that's what we did.
One of objects that i bet everyone took a picture of was the windmill.

There were also lots of cactus plants. The spikes were long and sharp.
Just like many cactus plants. :)

Also near this barn was the "Ladies" restroom. It was cute the design of the sign was.

Walking along behind these buildings. We saw this crooked tree.
It seriously had lots of shade under it.

Afterward, we walked around the buildings and took lots of pictures. Many we saw which were already we were familiar with included: Mustard seed, coyote bush, white sage , etc.

(i dont know what this plant is... but i know Deborah said something interesting about it)

Brittney found this awesome ANIMAL CORPSE.
Next we went inside the building. I took lots of shots but didn't want to enhance them all.
They'll be definitely maneuvered in my book when its published.
This is one of my favorites, "The Stairs". I overheard from one of the visitors also looking in the building that the stairs were haunted. AH!!! it was creepy cause' I could imagine that.

After the house investigation, we were able to explore the outskirts far beyond the reach of the house. Parts of the land past the old pink tractor was the next target.

Then Brittney,Vince, Deborah and I discovered more interesting plants.
The one that really was new to me was the WILLOW TREE.
It had this fuzzy coating like cotton around its flowers on the branches.
I have never seen anything like this. So it was fun.

BIG FOREST

As we moved deeper into the heart of the forest, lots of new discoveries were found.
Deborah, Brittney and I found more willow trees and interesting plants.

BTW, Brittney is usually a prop in most of my pictures. haha. See her at the bottom of the tree?

Lastly before we left, there was one last location to see. Mason, Deborah, Kim, Marjory, and I walked down the long path to the LAS FLORES site.

There was a huge area of mustard seed plants that was seriously large and conquering.

Finally it was time to go home. Because of the Daylight Savings time of going ahead an hour, it felt early to go home. Just like previous field trips, it was pitch dark before we left.
But this time it was perfect. Not too cold and dark.
